A Wireless Home Network; Practically A Necessity
Ever more things that used to seem impossible are becoming more and more commonplace. Technology is growing at an amazing rate and the sky seems to be the limit with some of the abilities we now have. With all these changes comes an interesting trend.
First the new technology is announced. Often it is first utilized in a business environment or in the marketing sector. It's amazing! It will change the way we operate! Soon it works its way into other parts of society. It may be used by your local grocery store, or even small businesses. Pretty soon, this same miracle technology is available for everyone to have in their own home!
Of course once new technology goes mainstream, only the most tech savvy people jump right on the bandwagon. Those with less knowledge or bravery sit back and wait to see how it all pans out. Does it really work? Does it require a lot of maintenance? Is it something I really need?
For a long time people were comfortable and happy with having their computers connected to their modems for Internet access. Sure it tied you down to that one desk in the house, but. Look! You had the Internet!! Those days are gone. More and more people are looking into getting a wireless home network to increase the convenience and ease of their Internet searching.
As with anything, mostly the computer geeks were excited to setup a wireless home network. It used to mean that besides setting up and configuring your router, you also needed a separate wireless network adapter, as most computers were not designed to support this technology. Now, however, most computers do have this type of wireless network support, which makes the possibility of having a wireless home network seem like less of a stretch.
Now it seems that even those who feel less secure in their computer knowledge are willing and certainly able to set up the wireless home network on their own. It takes only a little time, can very easily be done in an hour or two some afternoon.
The setup is not very difficult, and every router comes with instructions and there are many resources to help along the way on the Internet (although printing the instructions may be a good idea before you get started, since you'll be disconnected from the Internet for some of the installation.)
Once you have your home wirelessly connected to the Internet, you can use your laptop anywhere you please and spend all the time you want on the Internet. This is such a convenience that it almost seems like a necessity. Being tied down by a necessary modem connection, once you've experienced the wireless life, can really feel like you've gone back to the dark ages. Imagine the inconvenience!
Nowadays there is nothing to be feared about setting up a wireless home network. It's simple to do and will certainly simplify your life!
